Weekend Wonder — {Adding A Frame}

I was recently challenged that we miss out on beauty–the artistry of our Creator God–because we struggle to frame it.  It’s hard to move beyond the cacophony and clutter and to focus on the marvelous things in the midst of the messy.

My camera is a new frame for me.  I can move it to catch a certain light.  I can crop.  I can focus on the beautiful.  The dishes are strewn across my counter and in the drying rack, but I can zoom in on the vase of flowers on the windowsill.  Ahhh, beauty!

My perspective can move just like my camera lens.  I get a bit distraught when I focus on the messes–or the slowness of the change from glory to glory.  But when I center my attention and affection on His greatness, I see beyond the weak and common things into the very face of Jesus.

Here is a fun Scavenger Hunt challenge from Ashley Sisk: always looking . . . beholding:

Music to My Ears:  I have teenagers, so this is a pretty typical sight.  I love the way Abby’s hair curls around her ear!  There’s even a bit of bling on the ear bud!

Hat:  Anna loves to wear her baseball hat on the hot days.  I love how she wrote her name in kindergarten font under the lid!

And these pictures below:

Clear:  This is a fun collection of “found treasures.” We live on a former farm property and there is an old dump in the back woods.  Samuel found this little jar back there (I tried to sanitize it the best I could!) and we’ve also found the sea glass on various trips to the shore.

Out of This World:  A favorite movie series . . .

Sprinkles:  It is 90+ degrees here this week, so a few sprinkles are definitely in order!

      Thanks! She is a fun subject to photograph. I just purchased a simple DSLR from an eBay seller. I’m having fun, yet I’m on a steep learning curve. I’m looking forward to checking out your tutorials!

      Thanks for dropping by! I love your blog too. Wordless Wednesday is a fun idea–indeed a picture is worth a thousand words! “The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims his handiwork,: (Psalm 19:1). Enjoy your day!
