Beyond Imagination

This is beyond imagination, really, that the seed of a caterpillar can be cradled in a chrysalis.  The little creature is as good as dead–motionless, waiting.

Abby found the green envelope, suspended from the underside of the swing set.  A happy surprise.  A gift given in the new cold of fall.

So we watched and waited.  Green, green, green.  The days went by.

Then finally we could trace the colors of a wing—the colors of a king.  A monarch hidden away in the hope of resurrection.

And who would have guessed that after a long day of lessons, we would come home and happen to be there at the exact moment when the chrysalis split and life pushed its way out and wings swelled.  Right there, we were drawn in to a moment of glory!

The butterfly unfolded.  Fresh velvet wings filled with life–foreign movements to this earthbound little creature who is now bound for sky.

Such a picture of who we are in Christ.  He made us alive together in Him!  The old has passed away, and the new has come.  We are being changed from one degree of glory to another.  We are being made more and more like our King.  Really, this is beyond imagination.

Colossians 2:13, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 2 Corinthians 3:18

How precious that you and your family were eye-witnesses to this amazing re-creation. The photos were beautiful and so were your words. And you are right….this metamorphosis and the way God transforms our hearts into His likeness… is beyond imagination~
